OFFICIAL NOTICE OF CANCELLATION
OF ANNUAL MEMBER’S MEETING
FORKED DEER ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC.
Please be advised that the Board of Directors of Forked Deer Electric Cooperative, Inc. along with Management have made the decision to cancel the Annual Member’s Meeting previously scheduled and publicized for Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the main office of the cooperative, 1135 N. Church St., Halls, TN 38040.
While this decision to cancel our 80th Annual Meeting was a difficult one, the Board has determined that this action is appropriate and necessary to safeguard against the potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to be in full compliance with the state of emergency Executive Order(s) issued by the Governor of the State of Tennessee.
We hope that such action will: (1) Help to protect our membership from unnecessary risk and particularly help to protect the well-being of those of our membership which may be especially vulnerable to COVID-19; and (2) Help insure compliance with both the letter and the spirit of the recent Executive Orders issued by Governor Lee pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 58-2-107(e) establishing limitations and guidelines which are now in effect during the declared state of emergency (the extent of which guidelines are clearly effective as to “the conduct of civilians and the calling of public meetings and gatherings”.)
THIS ACTION OF CANCELLATION IS WITH REGARDS TO THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 15, 2020 ONLY.
Copies of the annual report will be available upon request to any of our members at the Coop Office on and after August 15 ,2020.
